Parched
On Wooden panel: almonds slices, pouring medium and acrylic paint
Parched represents all rural women around the globe walking miles to get water for cooking and drinking. Most have no shoes or footwear and walk over parched, searing hot land for hours to get their daily water supply.
The almond slices represent the parched nature of the ground as well as the richness of life despite their struggles.
